Giving Thanks, Day 5

Today, as I sit and order my holiday cards, I am thankful for my annual family photo, and the fact that my husband doesn't complain (too much, anymore) that I make him dress in Christmas colors in the middle of fall.

Every year I take a family photo for my holiday cards.  We gather our litter together, set up a tripod, and hope for the best!  I usually take this at the end of October or early November so that I can use the best of the best deals as they come through for free or discounted cards.  I have even been known to pull down a few decor items to spruce up the pictures!

This year we took our picture on October 30th, on our way out the door to the airport.  I finally just sat down to download it to my computer, and good thing I did.... a FREE coupon for 20 photo cards, expiring tomorrow!

What is better then free, especially for something that I know that I am going to be buying anyway.  A little planning ahead can save a few bucks in the long run!

Here is last year's picture, because I don't want to spoil the surprise of this year's photo!

What does your loved one do for you, even though they think you are crazy?!

YouData.com

Looking for a quick, easy way to make some extra money?  Check out YouData. It is not a huge money maker, but the pennies add up with time, and it is always nice to see a few extra cents get added into the budget, for something that you normally do on a daily basis...look at ads and watch commercials! Here is a copy of my referral email if you would like to join under my account (which I would be grateful for), or you can always visit the site on your own to sign up! I found something that I think you will like. The company's name is YouData ( youdata.com ). They are trying to convince consumers like us that we should be the ones controlling our own data and selling our own attention, not third parties like broadcasters, newspapers, and spammers. By creating a MeFile at YouData.com, I now control what ads I see and when I see them. Best part - I am selling my attention directly to interested advertisers, for real money. That's right, I get paid fo...

A Week of Golf

In 2017 my team was tasked with exciting job of catering to the LPGA Marathon Classic for their week long golf tournament here in town.  We had less then 4 months to prepare, and we had never done anything on such a large scale before.  It was both exhilarating and terrifying, especially for an Enneagram 6 like me.  We are loyal and committed, but our biggest needs are security, and we fear not having the support and guidance needed.  What a way to walk into a task like this.   I was suddenly tasked with finding organizations to fill close to 200 shifts for concession stands, as well as around 75 employees to help me make this event a reality.  It took a lot of time, planning, questions, stress, and a roller coaster of emotions, but we did it!  It was amazing the feeling that you have after you accomplish something like that. Since then we have continued to receive this job each July, and each year has gotten a little easier.  We have ha...

Weekly Menu Plan

This week has already been changed around again and again from my husband being in town, to leaving, to coming home early, to leaving again, so the menu plan has been changing, but that is the great thing about having food in the pantry & freezer! Since I didn't get around to making "Cheese" Soup last week, I made it last night.  While it was an interesting batch of ingredients, it turned out to be quite delicious!  I will post my version of the recipe tomorrow! This week we plan to eat at work everyday for lunch, or to finish up leftovers from the fridge, so even less menu planning! For dinners I am making the following: Taco Salads "Cheese" Soup Loaded Nachos Steamed Vegetables and Crescent Rolls (My husband can live on vegetables alone!) This month is busy at work, and I am having company this weekend, and traveling next weekend so I won't be doing any freezer cooking for a little while, but I am hoping to do a few large freezer cooking s...
