Week 1, Day 2 to Organized!

Day 2 was extremely successful! Not only did I finish up the daily task from  Money Saving Mom , but I also was able to cross 5 of my 7 own daily goals off my list, and 2 unplanned weekly goals that I had extra time for! My refrigerator was a disaster, even though I had cleaned it out last month when I started this project, and gave up after only a few days.  I was able to get rid of old food that was just sitting there instead of making it's way to the garbage can.  I found a few things that needed to be used up before they went past their prime, and I found some beverage mixes that I forgot that I had.   I also took 15 minutes to clean up the kitchen.  I wiped down all of my counter tops, wiped down the front of some of the most used kitchen cabinets (especially the garbage can cupboard), as well as loaded the dishwasher, hand washed a few cups that are not dishwasher safe, as well as organized my half of the "junk pile".  Every one has a junk pile, and the bigges

Week 1, Day 1 to Organized!

Today I restarted the challenge from  Money Saving Mom  for  4 Weeks to a More Organized Home .   I am loving the new printable checklist that they came up with so that I can just check things off as I go.  It even has a spot for me to list my weekly and daily goals, something that I need to make sure I focus on! I started when I got home from work by sitting down with a cup of engery chai tea  (a free sample that I received in the mail!) and creating my 10 goals for the week.  Now I have to create a plan to make sure that I finish all of my goals before the week is over! After writing down my goals I set the timer for 15 minutes, and cleaned up the house.  The last load of laundry got folded (and put away!), the dishwasher got ran, counters cleaned off, and extra shoes put in the closet.   I then took the next 20 minutes to clean out my purse.  I found all kinds of things in there that I have been looking for, as well as all kinds of expired coupons and old receipts

June Goals

After a peaceful weekend off of work (my last one for a couple of months) I woke up today with a renewed outlook on my life, again.  I was able to take the weekend to relax and focus on finding out where I want to put some energy into and where I need to pay less attention to. We only get one today.  We can spend it any way we want.  We can dwell on the past, plan for the future, or spend it in the moment.  I have my moments when each are important to me, but for now I have decided that I want to focus on the day at hand.  I need to take any time that I have to do something that I want to accomplish.  It may be large or small, but in the end I just need to get up and go!  I have been reading some new books lately and I have been learning a lot about myself in the process.  Things I have been scared of, vacations I want to take, habits I want to teach myself, as well the importance of being unique.   This month I have decided that I need to be more deliberate in my planning and that

My Top 10!

I just read a post from  The Gypsy Mama  about the  20 Chores She Would Rather Not Do . This got me thinking about all of the things that I wish someone else would do for me... just the daily, normal things that catch up with you, that sometimes you just wish would just take care of themselves.  So, if anyone would like to volunteer to do any of the following for me, I am taking applications ;)  1. Emptying the Cat's Litter Boxes (Can I teach Them to Go in the Toilet?!)  2. Hanging Up Clothes Out of the Dryer  3. Hand Washing Dishes (Why don't The Pots & Pans All Fit?)  4. Cleaning the Shower Curtain Liner  5. Changing the Sheets (Maybe it Wouldn't be So Hard if Miley Didn't Enjoy "Helping"?)  6. Taking Nail Polish Off, but I also hate looking at Chipped Polish  7. Washing the Wooden Floors, on Hands and Knees  8. Matching Together Socks, and Putting them Away  9. Taking to Garbage Cans to the Street 10. Sorting Through the Mail, M
