Something I find joy in...

We all seem to have something that we find enjoyable or peaceful, that others think is strange, or just don't understand.

Mine is surveys and product reviews.  I love doing this, and have done it for years!  It is calming, and a form of self-care.  I also love the benefits that I get from taking the surveys, and offering product reviews.  Yes, it can be time consuming, and sometimes I go weeks or months without logging into my accounts, but they are always there when I want to pick them back up.

Just this year I have earned over $1,000 in gift cards to Target, Amazon, Macy's, Paypal and more.  I have also had the excitement of trying out new products including shampoo, conditioner, face lotion, and most recently an electric toothbrush.

My husband used to make fun of me because I would sit up at night and do my surveys while we watched TV, or while he was out of town with work and I would be up all hours of the night.  Now, he enjoys the perks, and we even used most of this year's gift cards towards our lake house and all the "extras" that we didn't want to spend our money on.

It is also funny how things seem to work out... We decided to cancel the lady who would clean our home every couple of weeks now that work is slow, and money is tight.  My husband knows how much I dislike our current vacuum cleaner so the agreement was that I would get a new vacuum if I was going to be the one who was actually using it on a regular basis.  We started researching and pricing out options, and less then a week later I received a survey about vacuum cleaners.  That led to a product test, and now I should be receiving it any day!  Who knows if it is the exact one that I wanted, or if I will love it, but it is free (in exchange for my honest review)!

What is something that is completely off the wall that you enjoy doing, but you are too afraid to admit to?  Do you do it anyway?  Does anyone know?

YouData.com

Looking for a quick, easy way to make some extra money?  Check out YouData. It is not a huge money maker, but the pennies add up with time, and it is always nice to see a few extra cents get added into the budget, for something that you normally do on a daily basis...look at ads and watch commercials! Here is a copy of my referral email if you would like to join under my account (which I would be grateful for), or you can always visit the site on your own to sign up! I found something that I think you will like. The company's name is YouData ( youdata.com ). They are trying to convince consumers like us that we should be the ones controlling our own data and selling our own attention, not third parties like broadcasters, newspapers, and spammers. By creating a MeFile at YouData.com, I now control what ads I see and when I see them. Best part - I am selling my attention directly to interested advertisers, for real money. That's right, I get paid fo...

A Week of Golf

In 2017 my team was tasked with exciting job of catering to the LPGA Marathon Classic for their week long golf tournament here in town.  We had less then 4 months to prepare, and we had never done anything on such a large scale before.  It was both exhilarating and terrifying, especially for an Enneagram 6 like me.  We are loyal and committed, but our biggest needs are security, and we fear not having the support and guidance needed.  What a way to walk into a task like this.   I was suddenly tasked with finding organizations to fill close to 200 shifts for concession stands, as well as around 75 employees to help me make this event a reality.  It took a lot of time, planning, questions, stress, and a roller coaster of emotions, but we did it!  It was amazing the feeling that you have after you accomplish something like that. Since then we have continued to receive this job each July, and each year has gotten a little easier.  We have ha...
This blog was originally started to document different things that we were doing in order to move towards early retirement.  That was years ago before we decided to have our Sweet B.  We planned to work, travel a little, and budget so we could retire and spend the rest of our lives doing whatever we wanted....  Life had other plans, and we now have the best gift of our lives - along with all of the expenses that come with having a child, as well as the want to not work as much so we could spend more time with her. Even with these new diversions, the goal remains - Retire Early, and Enjoy Life.  We have seen so many friends and family that are working into their later years, or who have too little money to actually enjoy their retirement, and even worse - those that never made it to their later years with the chance to retire and relax. Every year we give ourselves a large goal - one that is just enough of out reach to make us stretch for it, but realistic eno...
