A Teenager Already?

6 years ago today we brought in the oldest kitty of the litter, Milo Midnight. Since we don't know his birthday we celebrate today, and since we are not sure of his age (since he was a stray), but we are guesstimating 13 years old already...

Every time that I hear "God Bless the Broken Road" by Rascal Flatts the following part stands out and makes me think of Milo and how much I wish I had more time with him, especially as he gets older, moves slower, and sleeps longer and longer each day...

This much I know is true
That God blessed the broken road
That led me straight to you

I think about the years I spent just passing through

A Week of Golf

In 2017 my team was tasked with exciting job of catering to the LPGA Marathon Classic for their week long golf tournament here in town. We had less then 4 months to prepare, and we had never done anything on such a large scale before. It was both exhilarating and terrifying, especially for an Enneagram 6 like me. We are loyal and committed, but our biggest needs are security, and we fear not having the support and guidance needed. What a way to walk into a task like this. I was suddenly tasked with finding organizations to fill close to 200 shifts for concession stands, as well as around 75 employees to help me make this event a reality. It took a lot of time, planning, questions, stress, and a roller coaster of emotions, but we did it! It was amazing the feeling that you have after you accomplish something like that. Ready for Autumn?!

When school starts, that means it's time for the routines to set in, new schedules and activities to begin, and best of all....the weather to cool off and Fall Fun can Begin! I love jeans, sweatshirts, boots, bonfires, apple cider, pumpkin patches, even football. Give me anything and everything fall! However, this heat wave does not pair well with warm doughnuts and apple cider - it just makes for bees and overheating. The pumpkin patches aren't as fun because you don't have on jeans and boots and crisp weather to make it more fun. The barns stink from the heat when you are trying to feed the cows and enjoy the animals around the farm. This weekend we are going to make our Fall Bucket List and wish for a little chill in a the air so we can enjoy this beautiful season of life we are given. We will continue to make new goals, improve on our good habits, and find new ways to love each other to the fullest.
